Analytic philosophers aren't big on "intellectual history". Wittgenstein didn't rely on Aquinas any more the Gemli does. Wittgenstein owned a few Western novels and that's it, and he tried to tell his friends to resign from academia. Given Coach P. is an "avowed anglophile", you'd think he and his buddies could combat Gemli and toe the right party line at the same time. Perhaps Gemli could benefit from a primer here and there on his topics of interest, but a deep dive into historical thought while valuable for its own sake, is not prerequisite for the kind of theorizing at home at Oxford.

Ironically, the approaches to theorizing at home within the New MI; Critical Theory, Deconstruction etc., take the literary approach that Midgley recommends.

When Professor Peterson blogs about Islam, which I very much appreciate, I always learn new things. Whenever Moksha comments on such matters, he always emotes, and hence also seems uninterested in or unable to learn.

Could this be the product of Moksha being socialized on the rabid Shades board? Please note that Shades has boasted that he teaches his inmates "correct principles" and they then govern themselves. I think Shades wrongly flatters himself about what he teaches, encourages and exemplifies, or at least tolerates. We have recently learned much about his own ideology, and disposition, by noting what he upvotes.

However, it is more likely that Shades is not responsible for the amusing and disgusting performance of Moksha, and others who emite on his board. Instead, he merely attracts those already of a certain disposition.

Gee Midge, you are so full of BS. I can guarantee you that both women do still have credibility, and their opinions do hold some weight with Church Authorities in a positive way. In fact I had a phone call yesterday with a GA which was mainly about a medical question, but this GA did mention the book by Brooks, as something I should look up, as we were engaged in small talk.

Neither of those two individuals were removed by church leadership from a university sanctioned position as you were. You have the credibility problem.

Am I mistaken, Dr. Robbers, or were you banned over that innocuous remark? American society is in turmoil at the moment over many, many years of racism, and Dr. Peterson's good friend is using the "N-word" on his blog, and that is allowed to stand, and yet you are banned for merely stating your academic title?

Coach P implied that I'd been banned for correcting Mr. Midgley in his manner of addressing me -- I informed him to address me as "Dean". That's the second comment I've ever made over there, and so it could be months or years before I can say whether or not I really am banned. It's possible that he chickened out at the last moment. Remember how he banned Dr. Moore and Dr. LOD and then freaked out and unbanned them but something went wrong and the reversal didn't work right, and then he lied and said he'd never banned them?

But yeah, wow, they went nuts on this one eh? I'm sure they are a little nervous that I might actually start posting. On the Kiwi blog, I asked Midgley some probing questions -- no insults. He replied in several paragraphs and then erased the whole thing and wrote something totally different. He knew I'd corner him and avoid giving him an easy way out by resorting to insults. Bear in mind, I've never called Mr. Midgley a name, nor have I used the word "stalker" to describe his activities, and yet, one would think I'm the most terrible person he'd ever met. He was so bent out of shape, that he said I was probably in charge of a "garbage truck"- lol - good one! That's one hell of a wit he's got!

A garbage truck on a good route would command far more than his salary as a professor, by the way. A guy in my home ward in the bishopric had his own truck and operated it personally, and he wasn't doing too bad.

Doctor Scratch, I'd be surprised if Midgley does not account for a full 50% of the future items in the upcoming "Top Ten Happenings in Mopologetics, 2020" edition.

To be frank, I don't think I've ever wished for anyone to live a longer life than I wish for Midgley to live. In spite of the fact that he's 94 years old, I pray that he tarries with us for a very, very long time to come. The man is an absolute goldmine.
