Nationwide Livestream Star Party

Join Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and our friends for a Nationwide Livestream Star Party!


You can view objects in the night sky around the country from the comfort of your own living room as observatories and astronomers come together to livecast what they're seeing in their telescopes.

Presenters include:
- Derek Demeter, Justin Cirillo, Frank Kane: Emil Buehler Planetarium, Seminole State College | Central Florida Astronomical Society, Florida
- Brian Cummins: NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, Virgina
- Martin Ratcliffe: Wichita State University Cohen Honors College, Kansas
- Pieter Strauss: Astronomer, on Behalf of Utah Astronomy Club, Colorado
- Amy C. Oliver: Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory | NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, Arizona
- Travis Deyoe: Mount Lemmon Sky Center, Arizona

Connect with your local or state astronomical group. I'm sure they've got a Facebook group like mine has. If I see more offerings I'll post them on this thread. They posted this one because they cancelled a local star party due to the pandemic.

We love it here! We're also higher in elevation. I can see the Big Dipper right outside my back door every night framed by tall pines. Looks so close you feel like you could reach out and touch it and the meteor showers are divine! :-)

All but the last 5 minutes of it. I thought it was outstanding! I loved the education, the images, and the software programs for the scopes were fantastic!
