Good News! Trump is taking hydroxychloroquine!

Post by MeDotOrg »

From Fox News:
President Trump revealed to reporters on Monday he’s taking the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine in an effort to prevent getting coronavirus, saying he’s been taking a pill every day for about a week and a half.

“I’m taking it – hydroxychloroquine,” the president told reporters during a roundtable with restaurant leaders in the White House’s State Dining Room.

He added: “I think it's good. I've heard a lot good stories. And if it's not good, I'll tell you right, I'm not going to get hurt by it."

The president added that he consulted with the White House physician before starting to take the drug.
This makes me wonder if the President's mother didn't take thalidomide.

I already thought he was taking it. It's not hard to predict this guy when he's scared crapless that he could die.

ETA: If the hydroxychloroquine doesn't work out, there's always Clorox injections.

Counterpoint - Trump lies about everything and anything, so maybe he's not taking it.

He's implicating his doctor. He had best better be taking it.

Aren’t you supposed to take it to treat an infection, not to prevent one?

Yes, he's using it off label prophylactically. And some doc RX'd it for him.

I think I should have said more before darting off. It's not an approved use however, he's right that health care professionals are also taking it prophylactically and someone RX'd it for them as well. He also used Z-pak with it at first.

Desperate times and all that.

She ain't done apparently. It's not been proven effective at preventing or shortening Covid-19. He's winging it over there.

Hope his heart doesn't start flipping out which seems to be a main concern with this med.

From the CDC’s website:

“The FDA warning that cautioned against the use of chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19 outside the setting of a hospital or clinical trial was added to this section.“

Yep. So it would seem that the doc's professional ethics are in question. Like propofol and Michael Jackson.

I'm going now. I really mean it. Watch I'll come right back lying fool that I am.

I assumed immediately that he was lying about this. There's no way his doctor would prescribe it to him.

ETA: I'm amused that I've become so cynical about his lies, that I automatically assume he's lying and we're not going to benefit from another of his great sounding but obviously outrageous lies. Oh, wouldn't it be great if he were taking a dangerous drug he wasn't prescribed (without medical supervision)?

*sigh*

He should start on the bleach injections just to cure the orange. For a white supremacist, he sure looks like an umpa lumpa.

Did you listen to his statement? He made the claim on national television and straight up said his White House doctor knows about it "well if you'd like it" but he doesn't actually say that the White House doctor RX'd it for him but I don't know what other doctor would be prescribing for him.

He thinks you can't get sick from it or die from it. If his heart flips out into one or more particular kinds of arrhythmias it could end up fatal.

Guarantee you he started taking the HC the moment his valet tested positive.

That's the part I was especially cynical about. I thought that was a lie as he was saying it.

Look, he's certainly dumb enough to do this. I'll grant you that.

But I'm sorry... there's just been so much bad news for so long, I refuse to get my hopes up.

If he's lying his doc is going to need to trot out a denial.

Oh yeah? He's on a statin. For cholesterol. Probably some plaque going on in there.

And his diet stinks. And he doesn't exercise at all.
