It looks like three failures there. The finger is touching the shirt, its suppose to be touching the skin of the wrist.

The protruding finger (symbolizing the nail) is indeed over the seam of the cuff. Perhaps that's a gesture from the sister giving the token that she wants the male temple worker behind the veil to ____ her?
