Mormon Talk (LIVE Mondays at 7:00pm MST) 22h

Tonight was the final straw. We are changing the show. We take full responsibility. I’ve had enough. So had Brett.

Huh. So, they asked for suggestions of video games. People gave non-linked suggestions. Then they played clips, ostensibly collected by themselves but based on the suggestions, and were astonished beyond belief when the clips they played had some pornographic element to them. Am I just not in on the joke?

On a relevant note, were young Mormon boys always this naïve? Even when I was that age, I found this combination of pious priggishnessrighteousness and big-eyed innocence irritating. Good grief. Grow some balls.

Dr. Shades,

You missed a really great show this evening.

The corona virus thing at the start made me turn off the app until the end of the show. Too bad. I'm becomming addicted to our boys at Mormon Talk. They remind me of my MTC and youth conference experiences. They are like the corney LDS movies of the 2000's, like that one about home teaching or the one about the Baptist meeting Mormons.

And that irks me to no end.

Thankfully I'll be able to watch the archived copy tomorrow.

Nope. Not I. But that is exactly the kind of thing I would do. It agrees with my personality.

It has been a pretty good show this evening, except that Dr.Shades caused some drama and upset half the women in chat. Apparently, Dr. Shades feels that a woman belongs in front of an oven. Whatever that means.

 just for the record, I had shades’ back all through that.

However, I can’t believe those momma’s boys have never heard the phrase “bun in the oven.” Would “knocked up” be better?!!

And seriously, one of them thinks a tank top is something you should only wear in front of your spouse? I weep for the sexual repression the wives of these boys must endure.

In all fairness, Shades did call in and clarified his comments about women and ovens. I also did a lot of damage control for Shades in chat. I was able to convince most people to forgive and forget. Shades, you don’t owe me anything. That’s just how I roll.

ETA. Lemme, you were in chat?! What was your handle?

I called in (bc a previous caller said I should) to explain the "oven" joke. I am as exmo as they come, but I want to show to continue on as it provides my Monday night entertainment after a very stressful day at my job -- so I will not act like a troll on the phone with them. I feel like too many trolls are calling in now and they will cancel the show (again).

I gotta hand it to Shades. He knew the whereabouts of Perfume on the spot and steered the conversation back to the topic immediately. Well done, Dr. Shades!

So you break my leg, then you hand me a crutch and say, "If it weren't for me you wouldn't be able to walk?" :-)

Why, thank you! I considered specifying and saying that Perfume would be in the Tokyo Dome, then decided that that'd be an extraneous detail.

Well, it does sound kind of bad when you put it that way.

Kind of like Heavenly Father telling Adam who had no knowledge of good and evil and then telling him not to to eat of the delicious looking fruit of a forbidden tree. When you don't know the difference between right and wrong or good and evil, it's kind of hard to find fault. But, it was that single act (the act of one man) that condemned every man, woman, and child, to perdition's flames for eternity unless Jesus gets tortured, strung up, and nailed to a wooden cross in order to appease his Father's evil imagination. Talk about not being punished for Adam's transgression! That is a lie! Mankind was punished because of Adam's transgression and perdition was the prescribed punishment according to the Book of Mormon and its hellfire doctrines.

Shulem,

Yes, that's exactly what I was trying to accomplish with Dr. Shades. Hopefully, someday he'll be able to recognize this and forgive me.

I've seen these guys on video and quite a bit on twitter. Mormon Talk is Poe's law incarnate. Some days I'm convinced they are genuine and other days I'm convinced they are a bad parody.
