As most of you know, there are thousands of men who blow themselves up every year, and kill not only soldiers but also innocent men, women, and children. These are called "Suicide Bombers". They are Muslims. Why do they do so?
They will say, they are Shaw-hee-dee ("martyrs"), and in the Hadiths (sayings..not the Qur'an) of Muhammad, there are sayings which say that a man who dies fighting for Islaam, Allah will reward him "72 virgins" in paradise. Every night he will deflower them, and every day they will become virgins again. Now, FOR ME...this seems like a LOT of work! I could probably handle one or two virgins a day, but 72....I'm just too lazy for such a eternal endeavor.
Anyway, of course, the men who go for this are "losers". In Islaam, a man can have up to four wives. So, most of the rich/successful men have four wives, and besides these wives they often have even more "concubines" (kept women and girls) which Islaam also allows "as many as the right hand can hold" (this means as many as you can pay for).
These means, the men at the "bottom" of the economic barrell don't get any wives. In most Muslim countries this means they use prostitutes, and most Muslim countries have many prostitutes, but in a few countries like Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan, there are no prostitutes! Their are "kept women" and girls (the playthings of the rich), but prostitutes are killed by their own fathers, or uncles or brothers (for "bringing dishonor" upon the family), which discourages prostitution. Now, a rich Saudi gives the father and uncle and brother of a sexy girl of 14 a LOT of money, and this cancels out the family dishonor!
So, these men at the lower end of the economic scale, no family would marry their daughter to such men. So, their life will consist of one-long-session of blue balls, working at menial jobs such as collecting dung for fuel, with no hope of sex (much less marriage and children).
Then, somebody comes along and says, "We will give your famly $2000 and you'll be a great hero to everyone and you'll get 72 virgins in Paradise if you blow yourself up and take out as many people as you can!"
Well, the loser thinks about it, and says "OTAY!"
What does he have to lose? Answer: a life of extreme poverty, no sex, no strip clubs, no playboy magazines, no cable porn, no love, no children, no future, no hope.
You must realize the meaning of "72" is not meant a literal "72". In Semitic languages like Hebrew and Arabic, the term "40" means "many" and "70" means "a great many". The term "72" means "a great many and then some". It does not mean a literal "72" as it would mean in English.
Now, in the Buddhist view, Baka Brahma does in fact have the power to grant you "72 virgins". But what does it mean? Where is Paradise? In the Buddhist view, "72 virgins" would mean, the man would be reborn as an Alpha Male (womanizer).
It means Baka Brahma would make you a "womanizer" in your next earthly life.
I've been roommates for single Mormon "womanizers". I had a friend who now lives in Utah who is a Mormon womanizer, and he was fired from his job teaching in a high school because he was banging all sorts of 15 and 16 year old girls (he was married, of course, to a good active Mormon woman at the time of the banging). I will testify to YOU that these men have, during their lifetimes, deflowed "a great many virgins and then some". And just about every single one of them were active and attractive young Mormon girls and women. All of these women and girls dearly LOVED the womanizers, but the womanizers did not "love" any of these women and girls. THAT is the meaning of the "72 virgins".
