Conference registrations and room reservations at Embassy Suites have been rolling in, and I just wanted to remind everyone again about the great agenda we have this year for the Exmormon Foundation Conference. Our theme this year is: "NO PRICE TOO HIGH!" We have a very interesting mix of speakers, and there will be something for everyone. I'm pleased to tell you that Richard Packham will be at the conference, and will part of the program. There are always so many people who want to meet Richard because the information on his web site has been such an important part of their research about the church.

At the present time, about a third of our hotel block has been filled, and we're just beginning! So, don't procrastinate! The complete program is on our website at: www.ExmormonFoundation.org, including bios on all the speakers. Complete registration information is there, and you can pay by using the PayPal buttons, or by sending a check to our Treasurer, Dianne Ormond. When you call the hotel for room reservations, ask for the reservation clerk, and then for a room in the Exmormon Foundation block. Do NOT call the national 800 number, as they do not have this information. You will not have to pay now -- only at checkout.

If any of you would like to share a room, let me know and I will try to match people up. If you have any questions about the weekend, please write to me at Sue97062@aol.com.

I can hardly believe that it's only 55 days until the conference! The
time is flying.

The earlier you can get registered, the easier it is on our Treasurer, who
is usually slammed the last couple of weeks before we start. So I
encourage you to get that done as soon as you can. In addition, reservations are
coming in to the hotel also at a pretty steady clip -- so don't miss out
there! Remember, you don't have to pay for that ahead, so don't
procrastinate.

We have such an interesting group of speakers this year: Charles Larsen,
author of "By His Own Hands Upon Papyrus". This was a pivotal book for me
during my prolonged exit "out". Richard Packham, giving a presentation
this year -- and more. William Lobdell, former Religion reporter for the LA
Times - who spent time with us several years ago -- a weekend that was
pivotal for him as he began his own journey of change.
And a whole bunch more. You can see the entire program on our web site,
_www.ExmormonFounda tion.org_ (http://www.Exmormon Foundation. org) .

Check there for complete information on registering for the conference, and
reserving a room at the hotel.

Be prepared to meet and greet old friends if you've been before. If this
will be the first time for you, rest assured that you will come away from
the weekend with new friends and great respect for the amazing stories you
will hear.

Information on the Friday afternoon women's gathering will follow in a
separate post. If you have questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

Sue
Conference Chair

Those who have looked at the agenda for the October Conference are aware
that Richard Packham is going to be there to give a presentation. In my
very first announcement sent out a couple of months ago, I noted that Richard's
talk was "The Mormon Endowment's Roots in the York Rite of Freemasonry" .
Subsequent to that announcement, Richard made a decision to present that
material at another time during the conference. Therefore, Richard's
presentation on Saturday is titled "Joseph Smith's Language Problems - A Linguist
Looks At Mormonism".

On Friday evening, after the open-mic time, Richard will be meeting with
those who are interested in a suite upstairs to present information about
the temple for those who've never experienced it, and also talk about Joseph
Smith's Masonry connections and some of the very close similarities to the
Mason's ceremonies.

NOTE THIS: Our hotel block is about 2/3 full at this time. Call
801.359.7800 and ask specifically for the Reservation Clerk. Once you reach that
dept., make sure you tell them you are reserving a room in the Exmormon
Foundation block. If you have any problems with this, please write to me
immediately, and I will fix it. Do NOT call the Embassy Suites national
reservation number.

And last but not least -- get your reservations for Conference in to us
ASAP, as it makes it so much less stressful for Dianne, our Treasurer. We're
all going a mile a minute that last week before heading to Salt Lake! If
you have questions, don't hesitate to write me.

Sue
Conf. Chair

no, it's me. I get the messages from Sue and then post them here. It's in my job description as president of the Foundation, well that and I get to give out cookies to those who join the dark side. ;)
