Animal Rescue Craft Guild--help for Australia's animals

Post by Jersey Girl »

The Animal Rescue Craft Guild is asking for help.

Do you know someone or are you someone who knows how to sew, knit or crochet?

If so, you can contribute to the recovery of an estimated hundreds of thousands homeless, displaced, and injured bushland animals in Australia. Pouches for orphaned Joey's, nests for birds without a tree or building materials, mittens to cover burned Koala paws. There are several types of animals in need in addition to those I listed.

Here's a quick story:

Another quick story:

HERE'S WHAT YOU REALLY NEED:

The Facebook group with patterns, examples and address for shipping. Study that page for tips on creating for various kinds of animals and what their specific needs are.

If this is you or someone you know, PLEASE pass the Facebook link to them. Everything they need to know to contribute is there.

Thanks you so much!

There's a link on that Facebook page to download a list of US "hubs" for the organization so you can mail projects in the US that will be sent on to AUS. Example: my hub is in Arizona.

Current estimates of animals lost to the fires are have gone from half a billion to a full billion.

Here's a video example of the type of items crafters are working on around the world.

The Animal Rescue Craft Guild has put a pause on accepting donations as they take a stock inventory. They expect the pause to be lifted so it's perfectly fine for folks to continue making various style pouches for animals to lay or hang in, nests, wraps, etc

Burrowing residents of Outback Branch have been ministering to fire victims.

Relief societies in the local Stakes have been scrambling to make little yellow t-shirts. The yellow t-shirts emblazoned with the words Volunteer - LDS Church would give much-needed publicity. It would make up for that fiasco on Zandar Prime, where one of the cinematographers for the I Am Mormon campaign grew frustrated and tried setting a member on fire because he kept repeating, "I am Groot".
