Why is Trump keeping this story alive? It's like one of those SNL sketches that was funny at first but goes on for too long. In reality, if this Trump-Alabama-hurricane-forecast fiasco was pitched at an SNL writers meeting, it would be rejected because it's too stupid, even for a Trump sketch.

When you say, "I don't think we are there yet" I assume you mean "there isn't the political will yet." You couldn't possibly mean, "He's not deserving yet."

The dude deserved to be removed for incompetence in early 2017.

So, it occurs to me that because Trump is an improviser, he lives his life by the kooky rules of improvisation, which are that once a suggestion is made (by Trump or Fox News), everyone has to accept it as reality and incorporate it into their act. They have to help justify the suggestion, no matter how outrageous. That's improv.

This administration is a horrible improvisational troupe where their awful, nonsensical routines have real world consequences.

It’s a compulsion. He can’t control himself.

It's like a destructive runaway feedback loop. The longer he keeps this up, the more foolish he reveals himself to be, thus the more desperate he becomes to avoid seeming that foolish for having kept it up so long.

You always confuse comedy gold with 'hair fire'. There's no need to project your comprehension difficulties on to the functional portion of the population.

On a related note, maybe this is a common enough characteristic amongst conservatives and Trumpkins to explain why there are so few successful conservative-oriented comedians.

The only funny is how in times like this you guys still haven't learned to pay attention to the other hand.

"Released six days after Trump’s first tweet on the matter, the NOAA statement was unsigned, neither from the acting head of the agency nor any particular spokesman. It also came a day after the president’s homeland security and counterterrorism adviser released a statement justifying Trump’s claims of the Alabama threat.

The NOAA statement Friday makes no reference to the fact that when Trump tweeted that Alabama was at risk, it was not in the National Hurricane Center’s “cone of uncertainty,” which is where forecasters determine the storm is most likely to track. Alabama also had not appeared in the cone in days earlier, and no Hurricane Center text product ever mentioned the state."

I get you. While we are paying attention to Trump's compulsive lying, we are not watching how Trump is picking the pockets of the American people through paying for American servicemen to stay at Trump's resorts when they were supposed to be staying at military bases.

You are right, we should pay attention to both his pathological lying and enriching himself.

This is probably a good point. Trump's doubling down on this point may be a deliberate ploy to make the media and the public obsess over it to the point of distracting everyone from much more serious malfeasance he and his administration are trying to get away with.

I think you are aware of what this means and why it is scandalous. "It's all in the game" you probably tell yourself. I wonder if it ever even occurs to anymore what the game is supposed to be about.

If you are not watching it, how are you aware of it?

Penguins can multitask:

Congress investigating Trump over US military trips to Scotland.

Conflict of interest concerns over military spending at Prestwick airport and discount offers at president’s resort

Fox viewers, not so much.

No. Learn to weather correctly.

Any path that may have gone through that part of the nation - and there were very few - only indicates a possible path of the system, which can be severely degraded at that point and be nothing more than a tropical disturbance. As well, that was days before Trump did his hair-fire “Hurr-cane is comin’ to git you!!1!” claim.

Awkward, indeed, that neither you nor the President know how forecasting or weather systems function. More awkward is watching the President waste a week and call a press conference in an attempt to salve his bruised ego, and then to watch you defend that snowflake behavior.

The other hand is covered in other threads. What’s truly funny is your insistence in projecting your inability to notice more than one item at a time on to other functional folks who are not saddled with your disability.

Well, that and watching the President throw a tantrum for a week over it. : D

Trump bullied the NOAA into lying for him:

NOAA staff warned in Sept. 1 directive against contradicting Trump
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/noaa-staff-warned-in-sept-1-directive-against-contradicting-trump/ar-AAGXulF?ocid=spartanntp

Making scientists back up the stupid and unnecessary lies told by Trump is totally wrong. It was bad enough that Trump has subverted the DoJ and other govt agencies. Must he contaminate everything?

Trump does something horrible.

Subgenius: Brilliant. This distracts from all the other horrible things he's doing. Now you won't know about how horrible he is being.

Normal people: We're aware of those things too.

Subgenius. *covers ears* Brilliant.

Lol. Perfectly described.

As Dorian moved up the coast, I've been watching Wikipedia build it's page on it. Trump's map crap fiasco is in the wiki now.

No, he had to waste official resources and time to call a press conference defending his mistake, crudely doctor official forecast graphics with markers and threaten actual forecasters to not contradict his snowflake butthurt ego.

You need others to tell you about threads and topics that you're too lazy to read yourself? Maybe you could post a screenshot of the Spirit Paradise thread topics page, and see if someone will mark it up with a Sharpie for you. ; )
