There's virtually no "legitimate socialists" being elected under the Democrat banner. Outside of Sanders, sort of, I can't think of a single one, though I'd prefer to hedge because I'm sure there are a few in offices here and there. The few people who call themselves socialists who actually hold office tend to be rather ordinary Democrats by mid-20th century standards who've come to interpret the label "socialism" to mean something like, "welfare statism and egalitarian social values are good" thanks in no small part to red-baiting like this. To the extent that this ends up allowing more actual Marxism in the fold, that will be bad when it actually becomes a serious problem. But it's not in a way that even a little bit approximates what's occurring on the right. The leftwing equivalents of a Sean Hannity or Donald Trump have almost no influence in liberal culture. People like Sean Hannity and Donald Trump are the beating essence of conservative/Republican politics at the moment. What you call "extremism" on the Republican side are opinions consistently held by large numbers of self-described Republicans, major conservative publications, and many to most of Republican leaders. You try to equate that to "omg Marxism!" among Democrats, but there is absolutely nothing like that going on in liberal culture.

But, yeah, you're going to crap out any and all associations between nutjob neonazis and Confederates with Republicans.

Is this a joke? Let's see who "actually" cheats to win.

Democrats

1. Use Immigration but especially Illegal Immigration to get more people to vote for them, by importing people who don't have American values, which also should tell you something about Democrat values that they want such voters (in other words they aren't "pro-American" as they claim).

2. Give non-Citizens the right to vote (so far it's just local elections) such as is occurring in a few different places currently.

3. Give Felons and even Criminals in Jail the Right to Vote. (not that I'm entirely against certain rights being restored for certain persons etc. AFTER time etc., but that's not what Dem's are doing)

4. Engage in various voter fraud schemes from Acorn, to bussing people around to different areas to multi-vote, to getting the dead to vote Democrat, and more.

5. Trying to stop Voter ID Laws, falsely claiming it's racism, when EVERYONE has an ID or can get one even for free if you can't actually afford it. Further, the so-called "disenfranchised" for some reason have no problem having ID's when they need Welfare and other support (which IS required). Note how this is also an example of Democrat Racism, because it's only Democrats who think Blacks and other minorities etc. are "incapable" of getting a simple ID (as this video shows https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrBxZGWCdgs (white leftists and general population blacks interviewed)
Clearly, Democrats being against Voter Verification efforts is 100% to ensure they are still able to commit their Voter Fraud.

Given the above facts... Democrats actually know they would NOT EVER win a major election, which is why they are absolutely and unequivocally against Voter Verification efforts and engage in other Voter Fraud schemes as listed above and others not listed.

Democratic seniors look back to their roots in the Civil Rights Act and wonder why we so relentlessly attack Republicans as racist when Democrats, the party of civil rights, have no apparent agenda to address daunting school-dropout and incarceration rates, drug trafficking and use, unemployment, violent crime, and broken or nonexistent family structures in afflicted urban neighborhoods. You can see the roots of what is happening now in the habits of 1968, which have been carried on by politicians, journalists and academics who seem unaware that deplorable means do not yield virtuous ends. Democrats and many in media now accuse Mr. Trump of totalitarian methods and objectives. There is much to fault in the Trump presidency, but the totalitarian tendencies appear to flow from our own party. Its present presidential aspirants appear to be emulating Robespierre in their over-the-top denunciations of Mr. Trump and all others they deem unworthy.

What is missing now, among Democrats, is any semblance of a coherent policy agenda directed to the future. Partisan anger is not an agenda. Positive, practical policy proposals constitute an agenda. To get started: peace, prosperity and justice. How can Americans of all parties and persuasions get there together?
