Thanks, I wouldn't take them to a pawn shop. I was just listing the various places that buy old coins. I've looked on the numismatic society website for my area. I have no idea how to determine who is/is not reputable. Should I just pick one from the list and assume that the person is reputable?

Seems like a good way to go about it would be to visit at least two of them. If the assessment and offers are roughly similar then this would point to either being basically reputable. After that point, it comes down to who you like best, to sell to. : )
