Hey Folks,
Can someone tell me how to take a screen shot of someone's Facebook post or should I just take a pic of it with my phone camera? It's an ad. I need to copy the ad, with the date and the image that the person posted. Thanks!
ETA: I copied the whole ad and pasted it into an email. Will that work as documentation in the same way that a screen shot would? Same thing or not?

If it's by itself, then nobody will know what post it was attached to. You could've copied the advertisement from anywhere.
But to answer your original question, Hold the "Alt" button, then press "PrtScn". Then open any graphics program, like Microsoft Paint, and press "Ctrl" + V.
You're welcome.

Thanks! You might have helped save a couple of babies from being strangled by or electrocuted by electrical cords, choking on small parts or being mauled by dogs. All in their so-called day "care" provider's home.

If you have Windows 10, it has a little app called "Snipping Tool" that makes copying/saving portions of the screen crazy easy.

Mac OS X has the helpful little utility 'Grab', which can capture most things.
Basically, if something is on your screen, you have the data on your computer (otherwise you could not display it). It's just a question of getting round the blocks that some people put in place to make it harder to get stuff from their websites.
