I'm happy for your well reasonable observation skills with the article, seeing the things missing that are KEY to making a proper judgment, and the fact that they were missing are telling, that they only included the facts that would make the issue "seem" like something racist, the gullible like Kevin G., Themis etc. would just believe what is said instead of looking how the language and facts are used to relay the information.
Now, if you were only accurate in your judgment of me. haa haa
But, at least you now see what I deal with every day with this liberals.
Yes, they are that dumb all the time.
In my own defense...I'm not stupid. I can read and critically evaluate an article, okay? I happen to live with a psych nurse. I know, in general, what the laws are regarding voluntary and involuntary 72 hour psych holds and I know that it's against the law to medicate a patient against their will unless they're unconscious and the staff can take over the situation entirely.
That's why I said in my first (?) comment that it was illegal as hell.
I wasn't sure about the law in NY, so I looked it up. Sure enough, the laws are the same regarding patients rights to refuse treatment.
One of the reasons that I went to those lengths has to do with education. Like I said, I live with a psych nurse and I have relatives, friends and co-workers who have dealt with mental health issues on various levels and in different situations.
That's why I don't go for this mocking you about seeing a therapist crap. It disgusts the hell out of me.
It's very important to me that a gullible public doesn't read this type of article and swallow it whole. Should anyone on this board, for example, choose to seek mental healthcare treatment, I don't want them to be afraid that they're going to be restrained and shot up with meds without their consent. If I were someone dealing with mental health issues and had read the article, I would be scared shitless right about now.
I want people to seek help when they need it. I want people to know what the laws state, how it generally goes with the 72 hour voluntary/involuntary holds, what happens there and I want people to know that the 8 day extension that is mentioned in the article isn't at all unusual.
I do my best to inform when I have a chance to. You guys might not like the way I do it, but I'm doing it anyway.
