In the culture I come from, we have a unilateral truce. We ignore things Mormon. Studiously. Because this results in some degree of peace, it has worked for 170 years. However, when they discover that we are not Mormon, and do not adhere to the trivialities of the Mormon code, or the prejudices, all hell breaks loose. If you do not bother us, we will not bother you. The truce, constructed by John Hay and Abraham Lincoln, does not work any more.
