Wealth and Holiness in the LDS Church

Post by _moksha »

Lenny Bruce thought that any preacher who owned more than two suits was a huckster. On the other hand, many religious people hold wealth and its accumulation to be a sign of godliness. Pretty sure the LDS Church favors wealth as a sign of worthiness for high Church office, while it seems poverty is seen as a sign of unworthiness. I could be wrong about that and if so, I would really like to know the exact Church position on this issue.

Moksha, this is basically unknown. Nobody here has contact with the Church, with the possible exception of Whyme, who set foot in the lobby back in 1997. Might try this question at the Baha'i Forum on Beliefnet.
