I've posted before that for me Mormonism was an either/or proposition. Either true or not. When I learned enough facts that made it no longer rational to believe it, I determined it to not be true and rejected the whole enchilada.
The concept of a NOM was foreign to me at that time. Since I was already out of the Mormon culture by the time that concept was introduced to me, there was no cultural motivation for me to go from apatheist to NOM.
Now I am beginning to think that the only Mormons that are not disingenuous if not outright insincere are the NOMs. The only way to make any sense out of Mormonism is if you reject the cornball claims.
Spare a thought for the stay-at-home voter
His empty eyes gaze at strange beauty shows
And a parade of the gray suited grafters
A choice of cancer or polio
And when I look in the faceless crowd
A swirling mass of grays and
Black and white
They don't look real to me
Or don't they look so strange
