Weeks after his proclamation, the King was deposed in the Revolution of 1688, and he fled the country.
The next year the U.K. adopted the "Bill of Rights", that limited the powers of the King, and SPECIFICALLY protected Freedom of Speech.

Today however, Leftist Leaders are being just like King James... thinking Fascism is what is needed in the world, Freedom FROM speech rather than of speech.

So, heads of state who always denounce any criticism of their actions as fake news end up being forced to flee the country?

It's heartening to know that out of all of the versions of the English Bible out there, that the LDS church still clings to the version spearheaded by a fascist.
