The last time faqs went deer hunting it was with a .223; poor Bambi. He doesn’t own any guns nor does he have any real shooting experience so not sure why it matters so much.
The Church only has this policy to protect itself from lawsuits should someone feel threatened or get hurt in a contentious priesthood meeting.
Toon, I totally get where your coming from and you did call it, this may be the line the sand for marginal right-wing members like faqs, but I think they should reconsider. Aren’t these the same people who blame the victims of abuse by their leaders? Don’t they want to protect the Church’s financial interests, even with their very lives?
Think about the cattle ranches.
1. I have NEVER hunted with a "gun". When I did hunt deer I did so with a Recurve Bow, out of respect for the animal, and to be a man, because to me hunting with a gun is a **** move and disrespect to the animal.
2. I love how you people lie so easily about people. I do own guns, and I have a LOT of shooting experience with all kinds of guns, not to mention my experience in the Marine Corps in which I obtained Expert Rifleman.
3. Nobody "blames victims"... Don't confuse your fantasy's of the church with our reality.
4. It's not the end of the world for me that the church is sometimes imperfect in "policy's". Though, that's not exactly true, one misinterpreted policy by local leaders has had serious damage on me and my family. My family and me, I'm certain would have been saved had it not been for this policy.
Anyway, that's another story.... However, in general, I will do what I need to do, not make an issue out of it, despite a bad policy. I know the Doctrine, and Weapons are clearly fine to God and Jesus for the people, and even for the Apostles.
