I think the problem is that people who assume that all gays are pedophiles and vice versa are usually so unwilling to confront the complexity of human sexual behavior (or indeed to think about human sexual behavior at all) that they cannot face the idea that a desire to molest sexually young people of the same sex over whom one has power is not necessarily linked to the kind of same-sex attraction that makes people declare themselves gay.

It seems clear to me that there is a strong correlation between males and pedophilia.
Perhaps it best for the boys scouts if all of the scout leaders were female, or better yet, lesbians.

Let's get something straight (no pun intended) folks:

Gay men know how to be responsible the same as straight men. Sure, it's true that there are gay men that might very well find an underage boy to be desirable (the same as straight men may find an underage girl to be attractive) but that is where the buck stops. People can live life and still be responsible and not act on their desire.

Gay men are scared to death of the thought of going to prison due to having sex with underaged boys! Where is the incentive? It's not worth it, folks -- any more than for a straight man to have sex with a 17 year old girl and wind up in prison.

So, gay men just smile, enjoy the scenary, and live life when it comes to underaged boys. That is the rule of thumb. Young scouts would be perfectly safe with gay scout leaders. Very safe!!
