Here is the official doctrine on the matter...

Quote:
We should avoid anything that we know is harmful to our bodies. We should not use any substance that is habit forming. We should also avoid overeating.

http://www.lds.org/manual/gospel-princi ... h?lang=eng

Quote:
Overeating generally refers to the long-term consumption of excess food in relation to the energy that an organism expends (or expels via excretion), leading to weight gaining and often obesity.

Maybe we could say, "Overeaters are breaking the WoW."

That is correct. However, the Church judges "good standing" in this area only by the items forbidden: Coffee, Tea, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Harmful Drugs. So one can see that abiding only be those items or even carrying a TR are not necessarily signs of personal righteousness or good standing with God. However, God has not defined overeating or obesity (except standards for missionary service) so one cannot always judge another in this way.

By the same principle, a TR carrying Mormon who is a Democrat is not in good standing with the Lord. We can tell because the Democratic Party is known to be in opposition to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and so righteous judgement on this issue is easy to make.

Of the items you listed, only tobacco is forbidden by the WOW.

Why is Thomas S Monson calling people not in good standing with the Lord to high office?

Running with this idea, that those weighing more than the standard metropolitan life insurance tables indicate as within the accepted range are out of compliance with the word of wisdom, would be a means of reducing both the size of members and well as the number of members.

So, do you want ketchup or fry sauce with that order?

Not according to the doctrine.

Speaking of insurance, I'm at 16% body fat which is good for my sex and age. However, I also have more than average muscle mass, because I go to the gym, which is heavy and increases my BMI and therefore negatively affects any insurance premiums which uses BMI.

I was talking about the WOW, not Grant's heresy.

I was talking about existing doctrine which by definition can't be heresy.

Bspace, to which political party must Japanese citizens who are TR carrying Mormons belong in order to be in good standing with the Lord?

Also Finland.

So the Great Apostasy never happened. Thanks for clearing that up.

In another thread I wrote:
- The Christian Democratic People's Party (Kereszténydemokrata Néppárt, KDNP) is a political party in Hungary.

- The Fidesz – Hungarian Civic Union (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈfidɛs]; in full: Fidesz – Magyar Polgári Szövetség) is a major conservative party in Hungary. The party was founded in 1988, named simply Fidesz (Fiatal Demokraták Szövetsége, Alliance of Young Democrats), originally as a youthful libertarian, anti-communist party. (Today they are older than that...)

BTW At the 2010 election in Hungary, Fidesz-KDNP won a two-thirds majority of seats by gaining 52% of the votes - and use their power the same way as the wildest socialist leadership of the 50's.
With some difference, because they are conservative...
